European Forum for Urban Security (Efus)

This morning, we were delighted to host Didier LAGUERRE, Mayor of Fort-de-France and Dario Rengassamy, Chief of staff to the mayor at the Efus headquarters! ▶ The city has recently joined our forum, as well as the Forum Français pour la Sécurité Urbaine (FFSU). We are excited to collaborate more closely with them on urban security initiatives 🤝

This week, we participated in the EUCPN (European Crime Prevention Network) conference in Tallinn! It was the opportunity to exchange and debate on crime prevention with more than 200 participants. Efus joined a panel on "Preventing Organised Crime in the EU: Collaboration" with European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL), Europol, and Radicalisation Awareness Network - RAN! We showcased Efus' work and the IcARUS Project, highlighting Rotterdam's efforts and tools: "Spaanse Polder" to combat organised crime. We also shared insights from the working group on the local roots and impacts of organised crime, led by Efus, Gemeente Rotterdam, and I amsterdam. 💪 ➕ Discover more about Efus work on organised crime: https://lnkd.in/eGuzhybf

🔵 Last week, Efus participated in the online workshop: "Local impact of global and geopolitical factors: preventing youth polarisation and radicalisation" organised by Radicalisation Awareness Network - RAN. ➡ During the panel: "The shifting landscape of local radicalisation: global dynamics and the youth”, we presented our expertise of 20 years in the polarisation and radicalisation topics and shared the recommendations and best practices of the cities in our network! Local authorities are crucial for preventing radicalisation, emphasising a preventive approach to maintain security and social cohesion. Efus commits to policies respecting individual liberties, fostering cooperation among European authorities, and supporting civil society to build resilience.
